98 days. That is how long İstanbul Park has been quiet since the last set of tyres went up in smoke there. On Sunday, 27 September 2026, the quiet ends. Round 4 of the Türkiye Drift Şampiyonası (TDŞ) and Round 4 of the TOSFED Drift Kupası (TDK) run on the same day, on the same circuit, in front of the same grandstands.
TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS, ONE SUNDAY
This is the format that has made 2026 worth the drive. TDŞ brings the PRO category, the fastest and most powerful drift cars licensed in Türkiye. TDK brings PRO 2, where the next generation builds its reputation one battle at a time. You do not pick between them. Both run on 27 September, and one trip to İstanbul Park covers the lot.
TDŞ: ONE DRIVER'S CIRCUIT, ANOTHER'S RELENTLESS SEASON
The TDŞ season has settled into a duel, and İstanbul Park sits right in the middle of it.
Rüzgar Okman, still only 13 years old and the youngest driver on the grid, has won here twice. He took the season opener at İstanbul Park on 26 April, then came back on 21 June and won Round 3 on the very same tarmac. Two visits, two trophies. If any driver has a claim on this circuit, it is him.
Standing directly in his way is Çağlar Küçükdumlu, who has done something nobody else has managed in 2026: a podium in every single round. Second at İstanbul Park, first in Gaziantep, second at İstanbul Park again. He has been the constant of the season, and he has been the man closest to Okman both times the two met here.
Behind the pair, the podium has kept moving. Akay Akbil stood on it in the opener, Doğuş Dursun and Berfu Tutumlu in Gaziantep, Abdullah Bostan and Ömer Örs in Round 3. The third step has belonged to a different driver every time out.
TDK: BOSTAN ARRIVES ON A STREAK
In TDK, the PRO 2 field opened the year with a surprise and has been chasing one man ever since.
Sinam Gazi won the opener at İstanbul Park. Since then, Durali Bostan has taken over: third in that first round, then a win in Gaziantep, then another win at İstanbul Park in June. Two in a row, and like Küçükdumlu in the senior category, a podium in all three rounds so far.
Serdar Nartak has been the quiet metronome of the category with a second and a third to his name, while Cem Djemal and Mert Gırgırlar have both taken runner up finishes. PRO 2 is where a single clean tandem run can rewrite a reputation, and it has done exactly that twice already this year.
WHY ROUND 4 CARRIES MORE WEIGHT
Two rounds are left in the 2026 season. Round 5 is scheduled for 25 October, but its venue has not been announced yet. That makes 27 September the last confirmed date and place on the calendar, the last time this year you can put a pin in a map and know exactly where the championship will be.
It also arrives after the longest gap of the season. Ninety eight days separate Round 3 from Round 4. In drift terms that is not a holiday, it is a rebuild window: engines come apart, angle kits change, cars that limped off the trailer in June arrive in September as different machines. Long breaks reshuffle grids. That is precisely what makes the first tandem runs of the day worth watching.
WHO IS ON THE ENTRY LIST?
Not announced yet, and that is part of the fun. The confirmed entry list for both championships will be published on apexmasters.com as soon as it is final. Until then the only certainty is the date, the circuit and the fact that after 98 days everyone has had time to prepare something.
THE PANEL AND THE BROADCAST
The same panel that has officiated the season returns for Round 4: Haydar Özdemir, Hüseyin Kar and Melih Şahin. Judging continuity matters more than it sounds. Angle, line and style are scored by human eyes, and a panel that has watched every round of 2026 knows exactly what each driver is capable of and what a clean run at İstanbul Park is supposed to look like.
Coverage comes from HT Spor, the championship's broadcast partner for the 2026 season. If you cannot make the trip, the race still reaches you. If you can, the grandstand remains the better seat.

Drift is a sport that rewards the people who show up. Television flattens it.
