Career Summary

Özer Mollamehmetoğlu was born in Istanbul in 1978 and has family roots in Trabzon. He belongs to the founding generation of Turkish drifting: in 2006 he was part of the team that introduced the sport to Türkiye and appeared at the CNR Drift Show. A graduate of Istanbul University, he combines his racing career with executive roles in business and in the administration of the sport.

Drift Club Presidency

Mollamehmetoğlu is President of Drift Otomobil Sporları Kulübü Derneği (Drift Club), the TOSFED-affiliated club that organizes the Turkish Drift Championship and the TOSFED Drift Cup and provides the administrative and sporting backbone of the series.

In the 2026 season he served as president at every round. The second round was held in Gaziantep, hosted by the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, an event he described as “a first for Türkiye”.

As a Driver

He started competing in 2014 with a BMW E36 M3, turbocharging its naturally aspirated S50 engine to more than 500 hp. In 2015 he won the Teams Championship of the APEXMASTERS Türkiye Drift Series with the Nankang team and finished third at the İzmir round.

In 2016 he moved to TeamART and finished second in the Turkish Drift Championship team standings. In 2017 he set the second-best qualifying run of a round behind a Ukrainian Red Bull driver, and in 2018 he finished third at Red Bull Car Park Drift, held in Türkiye for the first time. In 2019 he switched from BMW to a Nissan 200SX chassis, carrying the S50 engine over to the new car.

He finished fifth overall in the Turkish Drift Championship in 2017, 2021 and 2023. His full racing record is on his driver page.

Hill Climb

Outside drifting he has also scored results in TOSFED hill climb events: at the 2016 Kartepe Hill Climb he won Category 4 at both local and national level, and he finished second in Türkiye in the Category 4 local classification.

Business Career

Founder of Lastik.com, Mollamehmetoğlu is General Manager and Chairman of the Board of the family company Mollaoğlu Otomotiv. Active in the tyre business since 1983, the company distributes brands such as Goodyear, Michelin and Continental through a dealer network in all 81 provinces, and is the sole authorized distributor in Türkiye for Nankang, Winrun and Addo India.
