DEFINITION
A Competitor is any driver who has met the licensing, vehicle technical, and safety requirements of an event and is registered to run. Competitor status is what separates an entrant in the official ladder from drivers running practice or demo sessions.
In Türkiye, TOSFED Drift Şampiyonası requires a national licence and a TOSFED-approved vehicle inspection card to run as a competitor in a championship round.
HISTORY & ORIGIN
The term is borrowed directly from broader motorsport regulations. In Türkiye it is used interchangeably with 'yarışmacı' in TOSFED documentation.
TECHNIQUE BREAKDOWN
Becoming a competitor isn't just signing up — you need a current FIA/TOSFED licence (or equivalent), proof of insurance, a roll cage and harness meeting the regulation year, and a scrutineering pass before practice begins.
PRO TIPS & COMMON MISTAKES
• Submit your scrutineering paperwork the night before — you'll be at the front of the line in the morning.
• Keep your licence in your suit pocket every event; officials may check at any time.
• A competitor caught modifying the car between scrutineering and a run can be disqualified for the entire event.
Twenty-eight competitors registered, but only sixteen made it through qualifying.
